CCTV Images Released after £2,000 Ring Theft in Portsmouth, Reports AlertSystems Thursday 18 December 2014 PDF Print As shop floors flood with customers looking for their ideal Christmas gifts, it becomes significantly easier for criminals to go unnoticed Leading providers of commercial CCTV, AlertSystems, have reported on the recent theft of a ring in Portsmouth. Footage has been collected of three individuals suspected of a number of jewellery thefts throughout the South of England. Police have recently released footage of three individuals who are believed to have stolen more than £25,000 from stores in Milton Keynes, Thurrock, Harrow and Enfield as well as the Portsmouth jewellery store. It is believed that the men in the released CCTV images were also responsible for a recent attempted burglary in Bristol. However, the individuals were noticed by staff and eventually left empty handed. It is thought that the burglars were using keys to unlock any cabinets containing high value jewellery. The incident in Portsmouth was reported to have occurred at the H Samuel shop on Commercial Road. Two individuals were spotted acting suspiciously in the store, but left when challenged by a member of staff. Unfortunately, it was noticed a short time later that a ring was missing. Upon reviewing the CCTV, it was clear the two men had stolen the ring from the cabinet. As experts in CCTV, AlertSystems take a keen interest in business security news. Upon hearing the story, a spokesperson from the company made the following statement: “Unfortunately it is not unusual to see high-value robberies in the run up to Christmas. As shop floors flood with customers looking for their ideal Christmas gifts, it becomes significantly easier for criminals to go unnoticed by staff members. “In this case, the employees at the H Samuel store in Portsmouth were unlucky in spotting the suspicious behaviour a little too late. However, with the implementation of high-quality CCTV in most commercial businesses today, clear pictures were able to be taken from the footage of the criminals. These images will prove invaluable to stopping these individuals committing anymore jewellery thefts. “Jewellery store owners, police and shoppers alike can now be made aware of the three individuals responsible for the string of recent thefts. Without the presence of CCTV security, stores would still be at a significantly high risk of being targeted by this persistent trio. As both a preventative and protective measure, CCTV provides businesses with the assurance they need that their valuable stock will be safe over the Christmas period.” AlertSystems manage and maintain thousands of commercial security installations throughout the UK and are specialists in providing business security solutions.
