Increased investment drives hiring activity in the East Midlands Monday 19 January 2015 PDF Print Increased investment drives hiring activity in the East Midlands The East Midlands region is home to one of the most prosperous job markets in the UK, according to the latest employment update from contract recruitment specialists, Venn Group. An ongoing demand for specialist professionals means vacancies have increased by 21% year-on-year. Much of this activity is being driven by increased investment into the local economy such as the creation of the new Castle Donington business park which could drive roles for between 200-300 professionals. In line with this positivity, the region is also set to receive nearly £79.3m in government funding in a growth deal that should create at least 3,000 new jobs and 4,000 new homes. Elsewhere in the East Midlands region, there has also been considerable demand for manufacturing professionals. Reports have suggested that the sector experienced a 12.5% increase in deal activity in 2014 and these mergers have helped to create new positions for contractors. Avtar Singh, Venn Group’s director of operations in the region commented on the analysis. “It’s extremely encouraging to see such positive results continue to be recorded in the East Midlands and we predict this activity will continue well into 2015. The region is home to a number of major employers such as Next, Boots and Capital One, and the increased investment in new infrastructure is helping to create roles for specialists. With the announcement of the new local growth deal, combined with the launch of Ryanair’s summer 2015 schedule which is expected to drive nearly 2,000 roles at East Midlands Airport, this year looks set to continue to be a prosperous one for the local economy.” “Meanwhile, there has also been demand for housing specialists across the board as a result of the reawakening property market. An increase in investment from businesses and homebuyers was always going to prompt this sort of activity and this has been reflected in a 5% increase in house prices in the region. Consequently, professionals in a range of roles, particularly surveyors and conveyancing locums are likely to be highly sought after.” MEDIA CONTACT: Bruce Callander BlueSky PR T: 01582 790 090 E: firstname.lastname@example.org W: www.bluesky-pr.com This press release was distributed by ResponseSource Press Release Wire on behalf of BlueSky Public Relations Ltd in the following categories: Business & Finance, Education & Human Resources, Public Sector, Third Sector & Legal, for more information visit http://pressreleasewire.responsesource.com/about.
