LONDON: 22 JANUARY 2015 – Following research conducted by Cruise.co.uk, a packing priority in the new age of cruising is an entirely different kind of protection to the usual sunblock. Cruise.co.uk has identified that condoms are set to be at the top of the luggage list after polling its 200,000 strong cruise community to find out what shenanigans really go down on board cruise ships. By analysing the sexual health products available on board cruise liners, Cruise.co.uk can reveal that most cruise lines are ill equipped to facilitate the needs of the modern day passengers, with 70 per cent failing to sell condoms on board and 80 per cent don’t provide the morning after pill. A full breakdown of the sexual health products available can be viewed here: http://www.cruise.co.uk/guides/sexual-health-on-a-cruise-shi...

On top of this, it has been revealed that a whopping 80 per cent of cruisers admit to being sexually active on board with nearly one in five admitting that they have in fact cheated on their partner whilst on the cruise. Over 80 per cent of cruisers have more shockingly fessed up that their partner was on board at the same time.

More than one in three respondents are aged 65 and over, showing age is just a number and by no means stands in the way of sexual activity. In fact, more than a third of cruisers bring a sex toy on board with nearly 12 per cent claiming that they would never cruise without one.

Seamus Conlon, Managing Director of Cruise.co.uk, comments:
‘‘Following the government’s recommendations towards the end of last year for older generations to take condoms on holiday and ahead of the release of Fifty Shades of Grey across cinemas nationwide, we decided to survey our database of over 200,000 cruise enthusiasts on their attitudes towards sexual health – and it makes for an interesting read!

Helpfully, many cruise ships – such as Royal Caribbean and MSC, allow guests to have access to condoms, pregnancy kits and lubrication while P&O, Cunard and Princess provide the morning after pill, so liners are taking measures to ensure that this happens.

Respondents to the survey questions were more bashful than usual, with comments from Cruise.co.uk’s forum users including ‘‘Oh c’mon, what have you got to hide’’, ‘‘I’m afraid to open the link’’ and ‘‘is this a wind up?’’.
