THREE IN A BED AT THE CHOCOLATE BOUTIQUE HOTEL! Monday 26 January 2015 PDF Print Taking part in Three in a Bed was a lot of fun Bournemouth’s Chocolate Boutique Hotel will feature in the next series of Channel Four’s popular TV show Three in a Bed. In the series, B&B owners throw open their doors and take turns to stay with one another, paying what they consider fair for their stay. And in a programme to be broadcast later this year, Chocolate Boutique Hotel owners Gerry and Roo Wilton vie for their hotel to be crowned the best Bed and Breakfast by the toughest critics possible - fellow B&B owners. “Taking part in Three in a Bed was a lot of fun” says chocolatier Gerry Wilton, who set up the unique family-run chocolate themed hotel with wife Roo back in 2007. In the show to be broadcast later this year, Gerry and Roo go head to head with a B&B in Somerset that runs archangel classes and a small B&B in Shropshire with just three rooms. At the end of the week, one is crowned best value for money. “Taking part was exhausting as they filmed every day from 8am to 11pm but we had great fun and did activities that we probably would never normally have tried,” says Gerry. “Once the programme has aired hopefully we’ll get a boom in business, a role in a blockbuster film, fame, fortune and be on the Jonathon Ross show!” he joked. Last year, the Chocolate Boutique Hotel was declared one of the top six most scrumptious attractions for chocoholics in the world by Fox News. It was also named one of the best ‘girliest hotel getaways’ on the planet by CNN Travel. In a round-up of seven ‘quintessential girls’ getaways’, the travel website described the hotel and its chocolate shoe making workshops as ‘double whammy heaven’. The hotel was also described by the Sunday Times Travel magazine as one of the top novelty hotels worldwide. In a “Six of the Best” feature, the magazine listed it as the best hotel for chocoholics, describing it as ‘a temple to sybaritic cravings where you can let your inner Willy Wonka run wild’. ENDS Note to editors: Founded in 2004 by the Wilton family, Chocolate Delight was one of the first companies to have a commercial chocolate fountain in the UK and quickly established itself as the leading chocolate fountain hire company. It was soon called on by corporates, event companies and celebrities to provide fountains for functions such as film premieres and weddings, including Peter and Jordan’s. In 2006, the Wilton family saw the opportunity to expand and bought a beautiful but outdated 19th century grade II listed hotel. Christmas 2007 saw the renovation of the building and it became The Chocolate Boutique Hotel, the world’s first chocolate themed hotel. Today, Chocolate Delight is one of the most successful UK chocolate companies in its field and holds Chocolate Workshops at venues across the country. Its Corporate Chocolate Teambuilding events commenced late in 2005 and are now run all over the UK and more recently in Europe.
