T3 Ping Pong selects Swansea for global table manufacture of their indoor tables making whole range ‘Made in the UK’ Wednesday 4 February 2015 PDF Print making whole range of T3 indoor and outdoor tables designed and ‘Made in the UK’ (Kent, Essex & Wales) T3 creators of 3-a-side ping pong on circular tables, finds its manufacturing home in Swansea with furniture manufacturer Accommodation Furniture Solutions (AFS), making whole range of T3 indoor and outdoor tables designed and ‘Made in the UK’ (Kent, Essex & Wales). AFS, an ex-Remploy company, was taken over by a management buyout team in 2013 when the government-backed, post-war scheme to support disabled people in employment ended. Since then, they have been working hard to maintain a solid manufacturing presence in Swansea so they can continue to employ as many local workers with disabilities as possible. As a provider of high quality accommodation and education furniture, T3 found their product quality and expertise ideal for the robust manufacture required in their products. Digi Berry, T3 founder added “We’re lucky to be working with a company whose ethos and values mirror everything we believe in. We were let down by another UK company at the end of summer which really knocked my confidence in achieving a UK manufacturing base and I was starting to believe what people were saying about the UK no longer having the right skill sets to manufacture. It’s great to be able to say that’s not true and here’s the proof.” Kevin Edwards, Managing Director of AFS said, “This is an exciting time for us and also for Wales as all the indoor T3 table tennis tables will be manufactured by us, here and nowhere else in the world! I understand this is the first time tables will be made in volume, in the UK, since Dunlop closed its UK factory 27 years ago and moved production to Germany. We are already working on export orders for Australia and Sweden.” Manufacturing of the indoor range, the T3 Tournament, T3ONE70 and T3SuperMini will all be produced in Swansea whilst the outdoor tables will be made by metal and concrete specialists based in Essex and Kent. T3 Ping Pong was launched in 2013 at the World Championships of Ping Pong, Alexandra Palace, London. It is a British owned company, with tables both designed and manufactured here in the UK. The design and patent for this unique table and game belong to the company so all development will continue to emanate from the UK. So what is T3 ping pong? T3 ping pong is 3-a-side or 6-a-side table tennis. It follows similar rules to the traditional game, but it is played on a circular table with three or six players on each team. Available in three sizes to meet age and space requirements, the tables also double as desks and meeting tables. At a time when ping pong is hugely popular among all age groups, T3 has captured the nation’s imagination, but then why wouldn’t it? With up to 12 players on the table at any one time, it’s being seen as the most sociable and fun way to get fit! - Ends - Notes to editors For more information on all T3 products and images please contact; Kath Lewis T: +44 (0)207 404 9594 E: firstname.lastname@example.org For more information on all AFS Ltd please contact; Kevin Edwards, Managing Director, AFS Ltd T: +44 (0)1792 586833 E: email@example.com This press release was distributed by ResponseSource Press Release Wire on behalf of T3 Ping Pong Ltd in the following categories: Sport, Business & Finance, Manufacturing, Engineering & Energy, for more information visit http://pressreleasewire.responsesource.com/about.
