Around 160,000 home are potentially eligible for compensation in the Berkshire, Surrey and London areas. With the new funds in place, some homes will be able to claim back the full costs of double glazing and noise insulation, others who are further out could receive around £3,000. However, a free third-party assessment will be carried out in order to determine the extent of each home’s needs within their eligible zones. The airport are said to have improved their offer due to feedback received during public consultations throughout last year.
