WIGGLE CREATES LEGAL SERVICE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SUSTRANS Thursday 12 March 2015 PDF Print Wiggle Legal is a new legal service created by Wiggle, the UK’s biggest cycle and tri-sports retailer, with the aim of supporting UK cyclists that are involved in accidents (currently around 20,000 per year according to RoSPA) with compensation claims and advice and to help them to get back on their bikes as fast as possible. Profits that Wiggle generate from successful claims will be donated to Sustrans* (the charity behind the National Cycle Network) in support of the Network which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2015. Wiggle Legal forms part of an on-going Wiggle strategy that aims to create services that will benefit and support cyclists and cycling in the UK. Regular dialogue with Wiggle customers has helped define both the product focus of Wiggle Legal and its chosen charity beneficiary – Sustrans. Wiggle Legal is a no win no fee service helping cyclists claim fair compensation when they are involved in a cycling accident that is not their fault. The service includes giving claimants free physiotherapy as necessary, an area identified as key in terms of getting cyclists back in the saddle. According to Adam Ryan, Head of Brand Marketing at Wiggle, “We could clearly see that a legal product for cyclists was required and were keen to establish a service for cyclists by cyclists, backed by the power and reputation of the Wiggle brand. It was also important that our service was not only an exact fit to the needs of cyclists but that it also gave something back to the UK cycling community.” “As for the charity link, Sustrans was by far the most popular choice of Wiggle customers and we are delighted that we have been able to partner with them and support the National Cycling Network.” Julian Hall, Director of Fundraising at Sustrans, said: “We are delighted to be the beneficiary of Wiggle Legal and to be working with Wiggle on a number of co-promotional initiatives designed not only to raise funds but also raise awareness of the National Cycle Network in its 20th year and inspire more people to be active on the Network.” Wiggle Legal joins Wiggle Service Centres (accessible, bike repair facilities housed within branches of Homebase) within Wiggle’s fast-growing cycle-centric customer service ‘hub’ concept. A further two more services are due to be launched in 2015.
