Mr Hart then had to go through a long process of finding out how to halt the charge, where he was passed onto different departments within the car hire company. “They washed their hands of the situation, directed me back to Spain and haven’t paid me a penny,” he claimed. “Now my credit card bill is due, it’s terrible.” The confusion started when Mr Hart returned the car with a small scuff mark which was already there when he first collected it. The employee at the car hire firm accused Mr Hart of causing the damage, however when a complaint was put in at the front desk everything was said to be okay and Mr Hart wouldn’t have to pay any extra. When he returned home he found that the £364 had been taken from his account, and it took many emails going back and forth before the issue was rectified.
