Birmingham Restaurant, Fiesta del Asado, has released footage as part of a public appeal in order to identify a thief and his accomplice. Leading providers of CCTV security, AlertSystems, has responded to the news. CCTV footage has recently been released by a Birmingham restaurant after a brazen thief stole £1,000 of staff tips. Posing as a customer, the criminal entered the office at Fiesta del Asado in Birmingham and made off with the cash by stuffing it under his t-shirt. The restaurant bosses have now released the CCTV footage of the criminal in the hope that a member of the public will be able to identify him. There is currently a £1,000 reward for his capture. The Argentinian restaurant was closing when two men entered, asking for a table. They were refused due to the fact the restaurant was shutting for the night. One of the individuals asked if he could use the toilets, but was later shown on CCTV walking into the office directly opposite. Mr Khan, one of the restaurant owners, commented on the footage saying: “He had a good look around and then found the box containing an envelope filled with staff tips.” Mr Khan confirmed that the envelope contained around £1,000 in notes and coins, which has been given by customers as tips to staff members. He also commented he believed that it was not an opportunistic crime, but a well-planned operation. However, it is thought that the criminals were unaware of the CCTV cameras. A police spokesperson stated: “The men are described by staff as dark-skinned European, around 5ft 8ins tall and in their 20s.” As experts in CCTV security, AlertSystems takes a keen interest in news stories such as this. A spokesperson from the company made the following statement. “Owning a business that is the victim of theft can be incredibly distressing. In the case of Fiesta del Asado, the crime was even more upsetting due to the fact that the money taken was given generously by customers to hard working staff members. However, the high quality and clear CCTV footage taken from the premises is sure to be an invaluable source in bringing this criminal to justice.” AlertSystems manage and maintain thousands of commercial security installations throughout the UK and are specialists in providing business security solutions.
