The Goodwill Partnership will provide the Mental Health Foundation with home-visit, will-writing services

The Goodwill Partnership is delighted to announce a new partnership with the Mental Health Foundation, a charity committed to making good mental health a right for all.

Starting immediately, The Goodwill Partnership will provide the Mental Health Foundation with home-visit, will-writing services that will allow those supporters who haven’t made a will to have one written by a solicitor at low cost. It is hoped that the initiative will inspire supporters to leave a legacy to the Foundation if they so wish.

The Mental Health Foundation researches and evaluates fresh approaches to mental health with a view to advocating policy change and the roll out of best practice more widely. Their work is centred on prevention – with a belief that there is far more scope for interventions that prevent people developing mental health problems and which sustain recovery.

Mark Jackson, Director of The Goodwill Partnership, says: “Although mental health has been rising up the policy agenda, there is still some way to go until it receives the same funding and attention as physical health. We fully back the Mental Health Foundation and hope that by offering low cost will-writing services to its supporters, we can also assist the charity in raising much needed funds via legacy donations.”

This new partnership comes as the Mental Health Foundation recently marked the Mental Health Awareness Week (11-17 May). The week provided an opportunity to promote good mental health and prevent mental health problems. The theme for this year is mindfulness, and hundreds of organisations across the country engaged in activities to promote good mental health.

This collaboration is the latest in a number of partnerships created by The Goodwill Partnership. These include Arthritis Care, Motability, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, as well as Macmillan Cancer Support who in 2013 announced record results for legacy will-writing as a result of the partnership.
