Property developer Northminster Ltd and North Yorkshire interior designer Rachel McLane Ltd have partnered up to renovate a city centre car show room into a new apartment scheme. The development cost around £3.7m in total. Rachel McLane, a North Yorkshire interior designer, has already provided interior designs for several major schemes including The Feversham Arms Hotel, The Devonshire Arms Estate, Arsenal Football Club and many more. Her work at the new loft apartments included the interior design of over 70 rooms throughout the ten apartments. Designs included the communal lobby and corridor, the mezzanine areas, bathrooms, en suites, open-plan kitchens, dining and living rooms, bedrooms, utility rooms and entrance hallways. As well as rearranging room layouts, the team also specified all of the bathroom furniture, including de-misting mirrors, kitchen units and appliances, flooring, tiling in keeping with the building’s heritage, carpets, wardrobes and lighting in an extensive variety of styles and specifications. The apartments are set to be put on the market at a price between £250k and £450k for each apartment. Rachel McLane commented on the refurbished apartments, stating: “I saw the fantastic potential of Piccadilly Lofts immediately. The challenge for us was understanding the three-dimensional space so we could make the most of the best attributes of each apartment including the use of light and space.
