Train Station Becomes a Wedding Venue Friday 17 July 2015 PDF Print This would certainly be an unconventional way of getting married, but some might prefer less fuss around such a momentous occasion. A pub inside King’s Cross Station in London received an official wedding licence so marriages and civil ceremonies can take place there. The Parcel Yard was voted the station’s best retailer in 2014 and this can only enhance its reputation. Rashpal Photography have responded to the news. Five of the rooms in this pub are licensed to host a special day including the First Class Lounge, according to a report on London24.com. King’s Cross was voted the best station across the world for food and drink last year. Most people will favour an extravagant ceremony, however slightly more low-key events are seen as being advantageous because of their simplicity and speed. Weddings dates are difficult to book and these celebrations can cost tens of thousands due to expenditure on caterers and hiring a location. These reasons could attract several couples into tying the knot at King’s Cross. Jonathon Swaine, managing director of Fuller’s Inns, told ‘Beer Today’: “I cannot wait to congratulate the first couple to marry in the pub. I am certain their special day will be made all the more unique by having their ceremony in what is believed to be the first station pub with a marriage licence.” This would certainly be an unconventional way of getting married, but some might prefer less fuss around such a momentous occasion. A spokesperson for Rashpal Photography, who cater for all types of Asian weddings, released a statement regarding the pub’s new licence. They said: “Although most will dream of a big ceremony on a bright summer’s day, others will just want to say three words and confirm a lifelong commitment without much attention. This is a good location for that due to its accessibility in London and short distance to get on the Eurostar to celebrate their honeymoon in Paris. “At Rashpal Photography we are comfortable working for all types of Asian weddings wherever they are held in London. Please contact us if you are interested in hiring us for your special day, wherever that may be.” Rashpal Photography offer their services for Asian Weddings across London from Indian, Sikh to Hindu ceremonies. Their knowledge of these cultures and traditions allows them to focus on this section of wedding photography in the English capital.
