Choppers fly off shelf with NetDespatch

Marlow, 29 July 2015 – South Yorkshire-based Fast Lad is using NetDespatch to streamline its online order fulfilment processes by integrating the company’s online order data with its selected carrier – Royal Mail. According to Fast Lad, this has resulted in a dramatic reduction in administration work.

Founded in 2006 by radio control helicopter enthusiasts Jamie Renwick and Chris Walton, Fast Lad Performance is Europe's fastest growing dedicated RC helicopter superstore. The company imports stock from all over the world, including model helicopter kits, parts, engines, radios and accessories. Due to its rapid expansion, the company relocated to bigger premises four years ago. Now, with the help of the NetDespatch shipping and parcel data management platform, Fast Lad processes thousands of online orders every year for delivery around the world.

The NetDespatch Retail Solutions team worked with Fast Lad to implement a more efficient fulfilment and despatch operation. Sales order data from the company’s ecommerce website, Amazon and eBay is captured and processed through the secure NetDespatch servers, automatically producing the correct shipping labels, notifying the carrier that packages are ready to collect, and updating their Online Billing Account. Once packages have been collected, Fast Lad can track their delivery progress online.

“Previously we had to manually transfer order details which was cumbersome and a real burden on our time,” said Jamie Renwick, Company Director, Fast Lad. “When we implemented NetDespatch, the saving in order processing time was quite dramatic. The often complicated and time consuming process of sending goods overseas, with complex paperwork that differs from country to country, is also simplified with NetDespatch, which automatically produces the correct address formats and customs documentation (CN22 / CN23) for parcels that are to be delivered to foreign destinations.
