MariaDB recognized for completeness of vision and ability to execute, just days after launch of Amazon RDS for MariaDB

London, UK – October 26, 2015 – MariaDB® Corporation, a recognized leader in open-source database solutions for high availability, scalability, and performance, has been positioned the highest for ability to execute in the “Challengers” Quadrant by Gartner in the 2015 Magic Quadrant for Operational Databased Management Systems (ODBMS). MariaDB Corporation also announced today the release of MariaDB Enterprise Fall 2015, which addresses the needs of the enterprise as they tackle the ever growing amount and variety of mission-critical data from mobile applications and cloud services. Days earlier, Amazon Web Services (AWS) introduced Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) for MariaDB, building on the open source database’s growing momentum and accelerating customer demand.

MariaDB Enterprise and MaxScale Fall 2015 Releases
As a strong independent player, MariaDB has an active and vibrant development and user community that drives innovations which are relevant and valuable to the company’s customer base. That innovation shows itself in the MariaDB Enterprise Fall 2015 release, which delivers new features including:

• New cluster tools
• Connector/J new 1.3.0 is out offering prepared statements
• Connector/C 2.2 is available
• Certified binaries for MariaDB Enterprise 5.5.45 and 10.0.21
• Debian 8 binaries for Enterprise 10.0

MariaDB has also made available its Fall 2015 release of MaxScale 1.2.1, a database-aware proxy platform that provides high availability and security capabilities such as load balancing, sharding, and firewall protection without the need to modify existing applications. MariaDB Enterprise Fall 2015 and MaxScale are available immediately.
