Snow introduces an industry ‘first’ by offering Software Asset Management across all mobile device platforms.

The latest version of Snow License Manager enables Snow customer organisations to natively extend their current SAM program to all types of tablets and phones devices running iOS, Android and Windows platforms.

Andy Joeres, UK MD at Snow Software, commented: ‘As enterprise mobility continues to grow in the UK, Snow Software are responding to the new challenges faced by existing customers of Software Asset Management solutions. The additional mobile capabilities, offered within Snow License Manager, will ensure that managers of our SAM technologiess can now incorporate mobile devices of all OS types and form factors into their license compliance activities. This new exciting capability of Snow License Manager can provide immediate benefits to all customers of Snow, and will also help those evaluating solutions to choose a future proof solution, such as Snow License Manager, in preference to basic 1st generation software asset management solutions offered elsewhere.

Snow’s research in the UK found that 67% of organisations are already supporting multiple mobile operating systems and that 90% of employees use more than one device to perform work tasks. This research also showed that 97% of organisations now provide mobile devices to staff, yet 80% of those same organisations do not currently include mobile devices and apps in their current Software Asset Management policies.

Alan Giles, Business Unit Manager, Mobility, commented “Mobile workers are providing great productivity gains to organisations who have embraced mobile working. On the flip side, they are introducing licensing & compliance risks with the software they are consuming on mobile devices. The recent announcement from Snow confirms our ability to bring mobile devices into the normal thought processes taken by Software Asset Management professionals.”

The key benefit to UK customers is that from one single administration console, the ability now exists to gain visibility on both fixed and mobile devices within the enterprise. This capability now offers all of the benefits of software license compliance across any device consuming corporate data.

The latest enhancements in Snow License Manager make it easy for authorised stakeholders across the organisation to manage costs and compliance for mobile apps, maintain agreements and licenses associated with mobile devices, and track how mobile devices comply with internal hardware and software policies. This capability is available to customers irrespective of how they currently manage their mobile devices. Early adopters of this mobile inventory solution may also take advantage of a wider Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) capability from Snow Software.
