The TCM Group launches new cost-free Conflict Health Check to tackle workplace stress on National Stress Awareness Day Thursday 5 November 2015 PDF Print The country’s leading mediation and resolution consultancy The TCM Group has launched a new cost-free Conflict Health Check service for organisations to help tackle workplace stress. Launched to coincide with National Stress Awareness Day on 4th November, the Conflict Health Check is a free consultation – worth between £3,000 and £20,000 – to look at how much conflict could be costing your organisation. The latest estimates from the Labour Force Survey suggest there were nearly a quarter of a million new cases of work-related stress, depression or anxiety last year in the UK. And it is not just employees being adversely affected: the LFS survey reported an average of 23 working days were lost per case of stress, anxiety or depression which is costing businesses millions of pounds each year in lost productivity. Workplace stress and anxiety conditions now rate higher than backache as the leading reason for absences from work according to the Health and Safety Executive, whilst the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development’s Absence Management survey says that for the first time, stress is the most common cause of long-term sickness absence for both manual and non-manual employees. While workplace stress is often seen as a product of overly demanding job expectations, it can also be linked to employees experiencing conflict as part of their daily work lives. Owen Bubbers, TCM Principal Resolution Consultant says: “The cost of stress can be hard to measure but is in fact loud and clear: absence, loss of productivity, even resignation. The good news is there are tried, tested and straight forward ways to not only reduce stress, but also strengthen your relationship with employees and retain top talent”. To find out more about TCM’s Conflict Health Check, go to www.thetcmgroup.com or call on 0800 294 9787 and speak to one of our mediators, who’ll be happy to book in your organisation in for a check-up. Availability of the Conflict Health Check is limited so priority will be given to those contacting TCM soonest.
