APSCo Great Gatsby Charity Ball raises over £48,000 for ChildLine Wednesday 25 November 2015 PDF Print The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) held its 16th annual charity ball in aid of ChildLine on Friday 13rd November 2015 at The InterContinental Hotel in London. The Charity Ball was generously sponsored by First Choice Software, a leading supplier of recruitment software since 1996. The night raised over £48,000, which will have a significant impact on the support that the charity is able to offer vulnerable children and young people. Since it was formed in 1985, ChildLine has counselled over 2.6 million children. Last year, volunteers answered 462,505 calls of the 652,382 they received. Each £5 raised allows the charity to answer a child’s cry for help. Donations from the evening will also help ChildLine to extend its support even further by supporting its text and email services as well as providing funding for training much needed new councillors. As always, the Charity Ball was themed, with this years’ guests transported to Great Gatsby’s mansion on Long Island in the Roaring Twenties for an evening of fine food, drink and entertainment. Guests arrived to a Champagne Reception, sponsored by Churchill Knight, which was followed by a speech from John Cameron, Head of Child Protection Operations at the NSPCC. Attendees were entertained by Charleston dance troupe, The Twin Swing, karaoke, a ‘funny money’ casino, sponsored by giant group, and fairground attractions at ‘APSCoNEY Island’. All guests left with a Great Gatsby themed goodie bag packed with donations. Guests generously donated through pledge forms, a live auction, a silent auction, a raffle and a lucky dip. Broadbean Technology also sponsored the 11th annual Champagne Diamond Draw where the lucky winner, Suzanne Guile from First Choice Software, scooped a 0.9cts Tiffany & Co necklace.
