The vast majority of recruitment takes place online and due to inaccessible websites disabled jobseekers are often immediately at a disadvantage

Digital media agency, Arch, has pledged to sponsor this year’s Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) Awards to help raise awareness of the benefits of inclusion within the tech and digital sectors. Now in their third year, the awards celebrate progress and recognise the success of organisations that are making headway in increasing the inclusion of disabled professionals.

The sponsorship is part of Arch’s ongoing commitment to diversity and accessibility through technology. The brand’s sister company, Recite Me, delivers cloud-based web accessibility solutions which allow users to customise sites with text to speech functionality, dyslexia software, an interactive dictionary and a translation tool with up to 90 languages. The software benefits millions of people who currently miss out on online and mobile content.

As part of the agreement, Arch will provide its top-specification judging software, originally developed as a solution for the Direct Marketing Association Awards, to streamline the judging process.

Last year the RIDI Awards attracted over 75 applications across categories including Innovation in Assessment, Employers’ Choice, and Disability Confident. Previous winners have included Lloyds Banking Group, E:ON, the BBC, Sainsbury’s and Eversheds in partnership with Guidant Group, as well as many smaller employers and recruiters. Arch’s solution allows each judge to have their own iPad and conduct judging at their own pace, on only the entries that are allocated to them. Furthermore, all supporting material, which can consist of images, PDF files, video and sound files could also be viewed on the iPad, eliminating the need for a single shared screen.

Ross Linnett, CEO and Founder of both Recite Me and Arch, commented:

“The vast majority of recruitment takes place online and due to inaccessible websites disabled jobseekers are often immediately at a disadvantage. I set up Recite Me and Arch to ensure that no-one gets left behind in the digital space. We’re delighted to be sponsoring the 2016 RIDI Awards with our software solution and we wish all the entrants the very best of luck.”

Submissions close on the 19th of September 2016 and the awards are free to both enter and attend.
