Eamonn Holmes & Ruth Langsford

In an industry fixated by online dating, we provide a service that can’t be found anywhere else

Berkeley International’s Global Director, Mairead Molloy, has appeared on Channel 5 TV’s ‘How the Other Half Lives’ to talk about elite matchmaking with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, who described Berkeley International as the ‘poshest dating agency in the heart of Mayfair’.

Eamonn and Ruth were looking at the challenges that being super-wealthy poses to dating, and the ways in which the global business and celebrity elites find love.

Many of the world’s top businesspeople find it hard to balance success in the boardroom with success in their private lives, due to a number of factors. One, which ‘How the Other Half Lives’ touched on with Welsh business coach and property investor, Kevin Green is that it can be hard to find a partner who is interested in their character rather than simply their financial success.

Ruth Langsford and Kevin Green visited the Mayfair offices of Berkeley International to meet Mairead Molloy, one of the world’s foremost matchmakers and introduction specialists.

On the show, Kevin said that it was hard to be in a relationship with women who were overly impressed by the trappings of wealth, like an ex-girlfriend who he took on holiday: “We travelled to New Zealand and we travelled first class and stayed in a nice suite. She was like ‘wow’, doing cartwheels and thinking that this is a brilliant life. That was when I realised that I’d got it wrong.”

Kevin also explained that, for incredibly busy people, acquiring the services of a matchmaking agency is often a natural and logical step.

“For me, a dating agency is a bit like a business proposition – I know that’s a little black-and-white. I have expert advisers in different areas of my life and business to help me, and this is an area in which I need help. A good adviser could point me in the right direction.”

Mairead explained that the agency’s clientele includes successful people from many walks of life: millionaires, billionaires, doctors, lawyers, barristers, self-made businesspeople, venture capitalists and Hollywood A-listers.

Speaking to Kevin, Mairead said, “If you do what we tell you to do and behave yourself, the success rate for someone like you would be around 65 or 70 per cent, within a year.”

Discussing her experience of being on the programme, Mairead said, “We feel honoured that Eamonn and Ruth chose Berkeley International to showcase the world of elite matchmaking.

“In an industry fixated by online dating, we provide a service that can’t be found anywhere else. We get to know our members very well, invite them into our exclusive ‘club’ and introduce them to well matched potential partners.”

Berkeley International is an elite introduction agency ( which was first launched in London in 1998, with 300 members. Now with offices around the world, the market-leading matchmaking firm has over 5,000 members and is growing exponentially. Fees start at £12,000 for a UK-wide service or £15,000 for an international programme.
