Borehamwood, Hertfordshire – October 25th, 2016 – Safestore Self Storage are supporting Human Appeal, a British international development and relief charity, in their efforts to provide comfort and warmth to those in need this winter. The campaign, Wrap Up Manchester, is to mirror Hands on London’s original campaign Wrap Up London which is currently in its 6th year.

Based in some of Safestore’s Greater Manchester branches a group of volunteers will collect unwanted coats from the public. The coats will then be distributed to homeless shelters, refugee centres, elderly organisations and other charities which support vulnerable groups. Men's coats are particularly sought after; statistically there are more homeless men than women in the UK.

Samra Said, Human Appeal’s UK Programmes Coordinator, said there is a ‘significant need for warm clothing in Manchester at a time when homelessness is rapidly growing’ in an interview with The Independent. Ms Said went on to say that after initial outreach some 500 people are in need of a coat, and she hopes that the charity are able to provide for them all.

The campaign will run from the 7th to the 18th of November 2016 where the public and local companies may drop off coats to any of the stores listed below. At the end of the campaign the coats will be collected and distributed to those in need.
