FORUM ANNOUNCED SHOWCASING IRELAND AS A GATEWAY FOR DATA CENTER AND CLOUD

London/Dublin – 19 December 2016 – BroadGroup has announced the launch of Datacloud Ireland 2017, the new deal making forum for the next Tier 1 city in Europe, showcasing the country as a highly connected gateway for data center and cloud.

Ireland holds a unique position in hosting the EMEA headquarters and principal IT infrastructure of many large tech companies. Its attractiveness as a data center location relies not only on its geographic location but also a mix of lower taxes, abundance of incentives offered by inward investment agencies, highly educated workforce and standards of governance.

Overseas investment by webscales including Google, Apple, Microsoft and facebook have strongly impacted the country and influenced the emergence of digital eco systems.
“Ireland has achieved notable success already,” commented Philip Low, chairman of BroadGroup, “but recognizes it now has to compete across Europe to be included in the international IT deployment plans of global enterprises.”

A survey conducted during the 2016 Datacloud Europe conference identified Ireland as key choice for IT asset deployment by enterprise leaders. Conducted across a mix of verticals, the survey sought to understand how IT infrastructure leaders perceived location to resource their procurement and IT deployment plans.
