London – 18th January, 2017. Arkivum, a leading provider of long-term data safeguarding and data usability solutions, today announced the appointment of Barney Quinn, who will serve as Chairman of the Board with immediate effect.

Barney, who has over 30 years’ experience with software companies, will work with Arkivum’s management team to guide the company’s current growth process as new, challenging regulations for data management come into force. These include sector-specific regulations such as MiFID II in the financial arena and HIPAA in healthcare, as well as the new GDPR requirements for personal data.

For 13 years, Barney was a Director of Sherwood International plc, a provider of software and services to the insurance industry which was listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) until its sale to SunGard Inc. in 2004. Barney was also the CEO of Workplace Systems plc with whom he completed an MBO in 2011. He also advises Parago Software Ltd, a leading provider of cloud-based asset management solutions for the education sector.
