The UK’s third largest provider of software and services, Advanced, has been selected to join techUK’s Local Public Services Committee (LPSC). Advanced’s Nick Wilson, Managing Director - Public Sector, Health & Care, will be joining other senior tech leaders to help drive forward techUK’s position at the forefront of local government digital agenda.

Representing more than 950 companies and technologies that are defining the UK’s digital landscape, techUK strives to help members and the sector grow. Reflecting this sentiment, its Local Public Services Committee aims to improve engagement between local government and the tech industry while providing leadership on critical policy issues related to public services transformation.

Selected for his proposals on what techUK can do to drive real change and shape the transformation agenda locally, Nick will act as an ambassador for the group, actively engaging and contributing to the work programme, using his wealth of experience to champion insightful thought leadership activity. Nick joined Advanced in 2015 following his role at Capita IT Enterprise Services where he was Managing Director of Public Sector & Health securing new business opportunities across the public, private and healthcare sectors.

“I’m passionate about ensuring technology can have a positive impact on the millions of people that access public services every day. As a major British business that has undergone its own significant transformation, I hope that our unique and valuable insights can help to drive techUK’s position as a leading digital voice within the public sector. I’m looking forward to collaborating with policy makers, stakeholders and fellow committee members to help ensure the right environment is created to deliver a successful transformation across local government,” comments Nick Wilson, Managing Director – Public Sector and Health & Care – Advanced.

“A huge thank you to all of the techUK members who nominated themselves. We are delighted to have Advanced on the Local Public Services Committee, joining other tech leaders from industry, both small and large. The Committee will come together to champion transformation at the local level, and working with councils and industry to create the environment that enables innovation to flourish and deliver improved public service outcomes for all citizens. We have the leadership in place to accelerate techUK’s local government activity,” concludes Rob Driver – Head of Public Sector at techUK.

Ranked in the Deloitte UK Fast 50, Advanced is recognised as a British business success story, having grown to a £750m company in just eight years. Its CEO, Gordon Wilson, was awarded a position on the techUK board earlier in 2017.
