London 2012 Olympics played host to one of the most thrilling events in the competition last night as Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt confirmed his title of being the fastest man on Earth after another 100m men’s final victory that saw him break the Olympic record, completing the race in just 9.63 seconds.

Bolt entered into the race as a favourite despite previously been beaten over the same distance by fellow Jamaican Yohan Blake, who took the silver medal after completing the distance in 9.75 seconds, giving Jamaica a first and second place finish in one of the most anticipated events in the whole Olympic schedule, while the United States completed the podium finishes with a bronze medal for Justin Gatlin.
