Leading supplier of building products, Heaton Products, has welcomed the news that activity in the Irish construction sector increased again last month, citing an increase in the procurement of their flagship products in the Republic as further evidence of its continuing recovery.
According to figures from the Ulster Bank Construction Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) – a seasonally adjusted index designed to track changes in total construction activity – it registered at 61.4 in August, down slightly from July’s reading of 62.6 but still indicating a strong increase in activity at construction firms in Ireland.
The latest expansion means that activity in the Irish construction sector has now increased month on month for a full year . A sustained increase in new orders is driving the growth, with companies strongly optimistic that this upward trend will continue over the coming year.
