The #ITalkSex Campaign from Scarlet Ladies: Because Women’s Sexuality Matters

#ITalkSex: "...because I love it", "...because I was raped", "...for gender equality" and "...to stop abuse" are just a few of the reasons why

Campaign Launch:
23 August 2017 / from 12pm / 23 Paul Street / EC2A 4JU / RSVP sarah@scarletladiestalk.com

Female sexuality is not a dirty secret. It’s a part of who we are.

The #ITalkSex Campaign from Scarlet Ladies brings together women from every walk of life. We are united by our belief that by talking openly about what we need, how we feel or what we’ve gone through, we are helping women everywhere to find the confidence and empowerment to accept and love themselves for who they really are.

The #ITalkSex Campaign encourages women everywhere to use the simple power of conversation to celebrate their bodies, accept their desires and put a stop to prejudice, ignorance and stereotyping that affect so many of us every day.

From the date-rape victim to the woman who became her partner’s sex-slave for 10 years; from the mother determined to raise strong, self-aware daughters to the curvy woman standing up for body positivity, the #ITalkSex Campaign is for every woman everywhere.

#ITalkSex: "...because I love it", "...because I was raped", "...for gender equality" and "...to stop abuse" are just a few of the reasons why the women of our campaign believe in the importance of talking about sex.

“As women, we all know we need to invest time in our careers, responsibilities, relationships and friendships - but how often do we invest time in ourselves? The #ITalkSex campaign helps women from all backgrounds to open their minds, accept and celebrate themselves for the beautiful, sexual human beings that they are.” – Jannette Davies, Co-Founder of Scarlet Ladies

NOTES FOR EDITORS:

About Scarlet Ladies
Scarlet Ladies is a community of women committed to destigmatising the conversation around female sexuality for the good of women everywhere. Founded by Jannette
Davies & Sarah Beilfuss, Scarlet Ladies believe that sexuality is a natural part of being human, and that society makes it tough for women to embrace that side of themselves.
We don’t say that life is all about sex. But we do see that there can be no true empowerment for women as individuals, and no true gender equality, as long as that
part of our personal identity remains hidden or repressed.
