Snowy winter school runs are a walk in the park compared to the stress of summer for parents, according to a new study, with almost half of parents finding the coming months one of the most stressful times of year.

New research by online kids’ activity hub of 500 parents has found that 43% of parents find term holidays difficult – often due to the extra financial burden of childcare costs and pressure to cough up for various activities (39%).

Other factors found to contribute to the stress of the approaching break-up of schools for the summer were the difficulty in finding things for their children to do (32%), location of activities not being convenient (30%) and the quality of information available lacking (23%).
