Oracle has announced it has entered into a strategic agreement with the New
Zealand dairy industry, a global leader in dairy production, for the
ongoing supply and development of a range of IT solutions.

Unprecedented for the global dairy industry, the agreement makes Oracle
CPG, the first software package engineered specifically for the consumer
packaged goods (CPG) industry, the centrepiece of the IT portfolio of both
the New Zealand Dairy Group (NZDG), the largest manufacturing company in
the industry, and the New Zealand Dairy Board (NZDB), the industry's export
marketing organisation, whose combined efforts constitute 30 percent of
total
international product traded.  As part of the agreement, the largest for
Oracle CPG in the Asia-Pacific region, Oracle will establish a regional
centre of excellence for the dairy industry.

New Zealand Dairy Group Chief Executive Pryne Footner said the new
agreement will aid in the development of the company's expertise in
adapting IT systems and processes for NZDG's business needs.  "Our overall
objective is to maximise shareholder returns through the production of
lowest-cost, high quality dairy products for the global market," he said.
"Oracle CPG will help us achieve this goal by enabling access to the most
accurate and up-to-date product, pricing and market information from around
the world, together with the most efficient collection, manufacturing,
marketing and distribution processes.  Our relationship with Oracle will be
a vital component in our future performance and profitability."

New Zealand Dairy Board Chief Executive Warren Larsen said the agreement
offers considerable benefits for each of the three partners and for the
dairy industry as a whole.  "A key advantage of the agreement will be the
productivity benefits of a centralised data warehouse," he said.  "The
Oracle system will enable employees throughout the company to access
information relative to areas such as product, pricing, market and
operational information.  The agreement supports the achievement of our
added value consumer strategy which will deliver our shareholders better
long term returns and market security."

"The New Zealand dairy industry recognises the need to change dramatically
the way it competes in a global market.  Oracle will be working with the
industry to build an integrated supply chain information system throughout
New Zealand and the rest of the world," said Robert Shaw, Oracle's
executive vice president, World-wide Consulting Services and Vertical
Markets.

"Oracle also sees the CPG implementation centre concept as offering a great
opportunity to bring the industry together both on a common software
platform and via a common way of operating."  Shaw concluded.

"The integration of multiple partner products into Oracle CPG has proven to
be the way to engineer solutions for the future," said Nimish Mehta,
Oracle's senior vice president of Industry Applications Division.  "By
architecting best-in-class components into a single solution, Oracle
provides the best solution to address the unique needs of customers in the
consumer packaged goods marketplace, such as the New Zealand dairy
industry."

Oracle CPG is a modular software solution that provides comprehensive
functionality specifically for the CPG industry.  Oracle CPG comprises
components covering scanner-based sales and marketing management,
manufacturing and plant maintenance, order management and logistics, supply
chain planning and management, data warehousing, and financial management.

Oracle enables the sharing of information and standardisation across the
industry supply chain.  From the tanker to the shop floor, CPG allows
trackable analysis and improved synergy of information systems among
previously autonomous organisations.  By integrating data from raw
materials through the point of sale, Oracle CPG allows information to be
accessed across an organisation to improve critical business processes,
such as create-to-demand, make-to-demand, order-to-cash, purchase-to-pay,
and enterprise management.
