In a single move, Syntegra, the consulting and systems integration business of BT has side-stepped the IT skills shortage and significantly boosted its German operation.
The acquisition of EDM Software announced today brings on board a talented team with an excellent reputation in the field of Internet content management. Based in Dortmund, Germany, EDM had developed particular expertise in the insurance and energy industries.
Udo Keim, Managing Director of Syntegra’s German operation, said: "This is a very positive move; the EDM specialists who now join the Syntegra Group bring with them a wealth of scarce skills in Internet development, systems integration and consulting, which fit perfectly into Syntegra’s business model. At a people level, we believe the chemistry’s right too."
"I regard this acquisition as an important step in the expansion of our business in Europe" said Bill Halbert, Managing Director of Syntegra. "Acquiring EDM provides Syntegra with access to a greater pool of state-of-the-art technical skills, a motivated team of talented people and established relationships with three key customers: TNT, Bayer AG and RWE".
The operation is trading as Syntegra with immediate effect.
Syntegra is a consulting and systems integration business. It is part of BT, one of the world's largest and most successful communications companies. In July 2000 it became part of BT Ignite. With revenues of around $1 billion Syntegra employs over 5,000 professionals in Europe, USA and Asia.
As global business system experts Syntegra develops innovative ideas for its clients using the latest technology. But Syntegra doesn't just advise, it designs and delivers IT and communications systems and, for some clients, it manages the whole operation.
