The Canon Bubble Jet printer S800 produces better photographic quality images than ever before. More image definition, smoother tonal gradation and a greater number of available colours mean the Canon S800 really is the ultimate photographic printer.

The secret of the S800's phenomenal image quality lies in a combination of its higher resolution, Canon's new High Colour regular and photo inks, and advanced Microfine Droplet Technology that delivers microscopic 4 picolitre ink droplets on to the paper more accurately than any other ink-jet system.

The Canon S800's true 2400 x 1200 dpi resolution now means that up to 2.88 million dots of ink per square inch can now be fired onto the paper. This is twice the density of earlier systems.

Canon's brand new technologies ensure smoother ink coverage and reductions in image 'noise' and 'sandy' texture. Gradation between mid-tones has been greatly improved with approximately 1.5 times as many shades per pixel than previously. Colours are deeper, richer, more accurate and more intense giving a natural look to any photographic print.

Not only does the S800 print stunning quality photographs, it prints them faster than ever before. A new high-frequency print head enables the S800 to fire approximately 1.5 times as many dots per second than its high-speed predecessor. This makes it around 1.5 times faster than Canon's BJC-8200Photo printer and it able to deliver a full sized A4 photo, at 1200dpi, in approximately 2 minutes.

The Canon S800 provides the print speed that photo professionals have been looking for and the results of internal tests show that Canon offer more than 251 years light-fastness (subject to storage and display conditions). Canon's new High Colour inks have recently been independently tested by Wilhelm Imaging Research Inc. Results from these tests indicate a photo life-span of 26 to 282 years when used with Canon's Photo Paper Pro (PR-101).

The S800's stunning print performance is further enhanced by a new and exciting addition to the printer driver called Photo Optimizer PRO. This three-dimensional colour correction function includes an integrated Auto Tone Control capability that optimises colour brightness and density prior to printing. Photo Optimizer PRO enables the user to optimise their original photographic image to its maximum potential at the touch of a single button.

A wide range of Canon media is available for the S800 including High Resolution paper, Glossy Photo Paper and transparencies. Specialist Photo Paper Pro (PR-101) and new 6"x4" Pro Photo Cards (PC-101S) are also available for full-bleed, superior photo quality.

The Canon S800 is fitted with parallel and USB interface as standard. It supports the following popular operating systems Windows®95, Windows®98, Windows®Millennium Edition, WindowsNT®4.0, Windows®2000 and Mac OS, compatible with USB iMac/G3/G4.

Precautions on storing printed images:

The 25 years of light-fastness may not be achieved depending on storage conditions. The expressed number of years is the result of simulated tests conducted by Canon INC. and is not guaranteed. This number of years does not apply for paper fading or durability.
After printing, allow the ink to dry completely. Store your images in albums, clear plastic folders, or glass frames in order to avoid exposing them to the open air. Never store printed images in locations subject to high temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight. Store them at normal room temperature. It is not advisable to use albums with self-adhesive pages for storing images as this may prevent them from being removed in the future.
