PoulterNet, the integrated development agency, is aiding MTV
with its launch of a new cross platform fully interactive show.

PoulterNet the web, wireless and iTV specialist is helping MTV UK launch a new fully interactive show.

The new show, Videoclash, is due to launch on 5th February 2001. The show will enable viewers to
vote for their favourite videos by either sending in a text message on their mobile phone or by visiting
the MTV WAP or web sites.

Viewers will be able to take part in ‘head to head’ bouts to decide which video is played next. As the
votes come in they are immediately displayed onscreen so viewers can keep a track of the likely
winner and loser.

PoulterNet has developed a bespoke application which is built in Perl and hosted on Linux and is fully
integrated into MTV’s production facilities. This means that all the voting results and onscreen graphics
are produced on the fly depicting how the voting is going. "This really puts the viewer in control of what
appears on their television screen" said John Veichmanis, head of PoulterNet. "We really are dealing
with the future of interactive TV, and have created a format that will no doubt be copied by other TV
channels for years to come."

PoulterNet’s previous achievements include designing and managing the Channel 4 Big Brother WAP
site and text messaging facility.

PoulterNet is also hosting the Videoclash web and WAP sites and all of the SMS text messages are
being trafficked through PoulterNet’s own dedicated SMS Centre. The company has spent in excess
of £60,000 developing its SMS facilities so that it can develop these types of bespoke interactive

Videoclash will be screened on weekdays from Monday 5th February 2001 at 6pm. Videoclash will be
part of MTV’s new Interactive Zone.
