Ideal Hardware announced today that it has beaten off strong competition from other channel distributors to win, by competitive tender, rights to be the exclusive UK distributor for Fujitsu Siemens Enterprise products.

"We are delighted to win this tender," says Mark Walker, Enterprise solutions director at Ideal Hardware. "We have had a strong relationship with Fujitsu Siemens for several years now and this new alliance further reinforces this association. It is particularly rewarding as it demonstrates the strength of our Enterprise Solutions Group (ESG) here at Ideal. The business critical model promoted by Fujitsu Siemens demonstrates our shared thinking on the direction in which the market is progressing." Ideal’s ESG is able to provide the reseller with an excellent service to successfully implement and complete an enterprise solution from concept to fulfilment.

Ideal will be distributing the Fujitus Siemens Computers’ range of enterprise products. This includes the Primepower line of highly scalable Solaris/SPARC64 servers, along with a range of best-in-class products including SAN, NAS and backup solutions.

PRIMEPOWER Enterprise Servers provide market-leading RAS (Reliability, Availability and Serviceability) levels, making them an ideal platform for demanding applications where high performance and high availability are essential. The server range is certified by SUN to run their Solaris operating system.

"Fujitsu Siemens Computers has defined its strategic direction, focusing on Business Critical Computing and Mobility. Business Critical Computing is the opportunity to create Internet services of the highest performance, reliability, security and scalability. Fujitsu Siemens has the server and storage technology, know-how and experience to provide IT infrastructure for the up and coming growth in business over the internet and the back end infrastructure required to support these future trends." says Ian Snadden, Channel sales director at Fujitsu Siemens. "Ideal Hardware, with its current profile of customers, is perfectly placed to grow the SPARC/Solaris based server business and we needed a partner as committed as Ideal Hardware to follow our business philosophy. There is great synergy between our company and Ideal’s ESG. We are building upon the solid foundations of a relationship that has been in place for five years now and that has worked extremely well."
