New 1200 Switch Series allow SMEs improved performance over increasingly demanding network
D-Link has launched 3 Fast Ethernet switches targeted at SMEs looking for greater flexibility on their networks. These new products are high-performance, unmanaged, smart Fast Ethernet switches with 8, 16 and 24 10/100Mbps switched ports respectively and 1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet fibre and copper port options.
The D-Link switches will allow users to have fast access to directly attached servers via the Gigabit ports either immediately or later by upgrading to add this capability. Equally they can be used now or later to connect to a Gigabit backbone.
The switched 10/100 Mbps ports are ideal for segmenting networks into small, connected sub networks for superior performance, allowing for even the most demanding multimedia and imaging applications to be managed over the network.

While the switches are unmanaged, they offer several features normally found only on managed devices. To improve network management and performance they support, Port Trunking, Port Based VLAN’s, IEEE 802.1p traffic priority and IEEE 802.3x Full Duplex Flow Control.
The different port configurations allow customers a wide choice of departmental port densities to suit their particular need, whilst providing high throughput and high speed Gigabit uplink to the backbone.
