purchased SalesLogix for use in its Hall-Mark Division, in the Computer Marketing (CM) Group. Avnet is a
Fortune 500 company with annual sales exceeding 11.5 billion dollars last year, and is one of the world's largest
distributors of semiconductors, interconnect, passive and electromechanical components and computer
products from leading manufacturers.

The Hall-Mark division distributes hardware for companies such as Compaq, HP and IBM and software for
companies such as, Computer Associates, Oracle, Veritas, and others. There is great diversity in its customer
base because it sells to resellers and provides direct customer support representing major high-tech
manufacturers. Its multiple roles, and thus identities, with the customer from sales to support representatives,
require them to track more unique information than most organisations. The structure of Avnet requires highly
customised account and contact information so that users can respond appropriately.

In addition to using SalesLogix Sales, Avnet provides support for direct and sub-contracted customers with
SalesLogix Support. This package shares problem and resolution information to anyone who interacts with the
customers outside of the support or service departments. Invoicing for support and services is also simplified
with the package. By using SalesLogix Support to record customer call times, outstanding issues and problem
resolution records are available to support Avnet invoices.
