LONDON UK, 7 January 2001 - Associated Mediabase (AMB), the IT arm of Associated Newspapers Ltd (ANL), today announced that it has selected TIBCO Software Inc., (Nasdaq: TIBX), a leading provider of real-time e-business infrastructure software, to integrate the core internal systems for ANL. The TIBCO solution will provide real-time integration for ANL's accounting systems together with advertising sales systems, circulation support systems, production and publishing systems and data warehousing. Allan Marshall, Managing Director for Associated Mediabase and Group Technology Director for ANL commented: "TIBCO's approach to integration and the real-time nature of the solution has increased the availability of information within ANL and dramatically improved our ability to react quickly to that information. We have now fully automated the entire process, from booking an ad in telesales, to invoicing and proof layout and then publication." He added: "The TIBCO platform is also a fault tolerant solution which is a must for business critical applications."

"Real-time integration is key for companies wishing to improve their information flow and those wanting to automate cross-application and cross-company business processes and workflow. " added Alun Baker, TIBCO's UK managing director.
