London, February 12, 2001 - Le Monde Interactif, publisher of the news
site www.lemonde.fr, today announced an agreement with Qpass, the global
leader in digital commerce services, to enable the distribution and sale
of Le Monde Interactif's content and services on the Internet.

This agreement enables Le Monde Interactif to develop and offer innovative
premium digital products for sale to its online audience. In addition,
the global presence of Qpass will allow Le Monde Interactif to market its
content and services to French-speaking readers throughout the world.
Currently, 40 per cent of visitors to www.lemonde.fr reside outside
France.

Qpass already provides the online commerce infrastructure for some of the
most successful global publishers and media companies on the Internet,
including telegraph.co.uk, newsplayer.co.uk, The Stationery Office
(formerly known as HMSO), The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal,
Grupo Zeta, AT&T and USA Today.
