Printer specialist demonstrates the importance of correct product selection
Tally, the computer printer specialist, today stressed the importance of ‘the right product for the right job’ to be recognised by the business community and public sector. Tally argued that this is the only true way to drive down costs, and the company will be demonstrating this at the forthcoming Healthcare Computing Exhibition, where it will meet with astute buyers from the health industry.
Managing Director at Tally, Robin Edwardes, said, "It is essential for any provider of technological solutions to be forward-thinking in its approach to the appeal of a product or service. All too often, business customers, seduced by the latest technological offerings, are buying printer equipment which is not best suited to the application required. Frequently they are persuaded to buy a lower cost printer up front not realising its potentially high running costs. In many cases a more expensive, robust printer can perform better at a fraction of the running costs."
Edwardes continues, "The sure way to drive down the total cost of ownership is by matching a product to customers’ needs, ensuring there are no nasty shocks in terms of total cost of ownership that only become apparent when its too late. " Edwardes stressed that total cost considerations should include technology type, warranty periods, on-site maintenance, and fast spares availability to avoid expensive downtime. He added, "The Public Sector does not have the money to waste on getting it wrong, so the perfect solution is required first time around. As Tally provides all key technologies - laser, inkjet, dot and line matrix - and its own dedicated service and spares it is in a unique position to offer a true TCO printing solution."
Tally’s presence at the Healthcare Computing Exhibition will be facilitated by its Strategic Business Partner, Bannerbridge, a healthcare specialist for over 15 years.
Bannerbridge, with its specialist knowledge of the printer market, is able to advise on the selection of printer products for specific applications. Director at Bannerbridge, Phil Wheeler, says, "Demand for mission critical dot matrix and line printers far exceeds that for laser printers at this show. Our discussions with buyers continue to illustrate the importance the sector places on durability and cost of ownership."
On the stand, Tally and Bannerbridge will demonstrate a range of printers from high-workload dot matrix and line, to production non-impact and laser printers. These are ideally suited to a number of important healthcare environments, including pharmacy, x-ray, A&E, pathology, finance, central medical records, colour for marketing and Trust HQ. In support of this, Bannerbridge offers healthcare buyers on-site demonstrations, and provides case studies of similar environment installations.
Edwardes concludes, "Key industry trade shows like this personify the importance of correct product placement. Technology providers should be more responsible in driving down the total cost of ownership by taking into account what a customer needs, as well as and training their channel partners to be responsive to this."
