Categoric and eBECS undertake strategic marketing push to BAAN UK user base

Leatherhead, United Kingdom, 14 February 2001 - Categoric Software, the leader in alerting infrastructure technology, has strengthened its partnership agreement with eBECS, the specialist in e-commerce solutions and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems. eBECS is committed to delivering Categoric's Xalerts software, and is now officially the preferred Categoric partner for addressing the alerting requirements of BAAN UK customers.

Having developed expertise in Xalerts technology over the last half of 2000, eBECS now offers personalized alerts as an integral part of the Baan solution portfolio. Xalerts enables eBECS's customers to better manage all aspects of the business and specifically inventory and logistics issues by delivering mission-critical information to key decision makers in real-time via any multichannel device, so that immediate action can be taken.

Commenting on the partnership, Andrew Rumney, Group Sales Director at eBECS said: "eBECS is delighted to be considered the preferred partner for Categoric to address the BAAN UK community. The strengthening of our relationship validates our role as accredited providers of the full benefits of Categoric Xalerts. Xalerts allows our clients to get the best out of ERP, returning the power of information distribution back to the individual."

Xalerts is delivered as part of eBECS's portfolio of products and complements their market leadership in providing strategic and product-led e-business implementations to enterprise organizations. The integrated alert-driven ERP solution, powered by Categoric Xalerts 5.0, enables organizations to optimize their ERP systems by delivering mission-critical information as it happens.

Xalerts 5.0 is the industry-leading alerts software developed to manage and prioritise the flow of information, through an organization’s existing communications channels (including email, Web, SMS, WAP, pager and fax). Categoric's software solution can be used to support manufacturing processes, logistics and even customer relationship management issues.

As enterprises are moving towards mobile e-business, Xalerts enables customers to extend the benefits of ERP to a new range of devices. Xalerts can be delivered via any wireless or wireline device, enabling eBECS to immediately offer its clients the ability to alert its customers, employees, investors and business partners about mission critical information, at any time in any location.

"ERP helps companies generate all the critical information they need. Xalerts helps companies access that information when they need it. This is why it makes sense for us to work closely with eBECS," said Thorgeir Einarsson, CEO and co-founder of Categoric Software. "What businesses need is access to the right information at the right time, regardless of whether the employee is at his desk, on the shop floor or out at lunch. Information has to be totally mobile, interactive and personalized and delivered in real time via multichannel devices. We look forward to developing our ties with eBECS further and working with them to reach more of the enterprise businesses that need us."
