QSM 2.0 meets global standard for best practices

London, 19 February 2001: Datawatch International, the provider of IT service management solutions, today announced that the Datawatch QSM 2.0 has been certified by Pink Elephant’s PinkVerify service. This certification, awarded so far to only a handful of vendors, verifies that QSM 2.0 conforms to the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), a set of comprehensive, consistent and coherent codes of best practice for IT service management.

ITIL has been developed in recognition of organisations’ growing dependency on IT and embodies best practices for IT service management. To achieve certification from Pink Elephant, an international leader in IT service management solutions and trainer of IT professionals to ITIL standards, Datawatch first performed a self-assessment of QSM using official ITIL guidelines and then submitted the product to Pink Elephant for an additional verification assessment.

QSM delivers true enterprise-wide service management via a complete internet/intranet/extranet enabled solution to extend the reach of any organisation’s IT service provision. A suite of integrated modules, QSM provides a base server system, a process driven service management portal and a browser interface for enterprise-wide call management. Clients in the UK include the BBC and Telford Wrekin Council.

Robert Hagger, Managing Director of Datawatch International, comments:

"Datawatch has been an enthusiastic supporter of the ITIL concept for the last 2 years and we have invested considerably in ensuring that all our consultants are ITIL trained. We believe that the quality in-house consultancy we offer, rather than relying upon third party consultants, is a key differentiator for us; we know from our clients’ feedback that we provide all the tools and skills required to support best practices. We are delighted to now be among the likes of Remedy and Peregrine in being recognised as premier solution providers."

Alan McCarthy, Marketing Director Pink Elephant UK, commented:

"Organisations are recognising that independent and open standards for best practice in IT Service Management are an important step to managing costs, increasing control and accelerating service levels in an increasingly IT-dependent eBusiness world. Pink Elephant is excited to see major solutions manufacturers take on the challenge of making their products ITIL compatible. At last, if a tool is PinkVerified, IT organisations can be confident that it will augment their ITIL processes."
