Ideal Hardware today announced it has been appointed as the first UK distributor authorised by ADIC to distribute and install the complete range of ADIC tape automation products, from FastStor to Scalar 1000. Having undertaken extensive training at ADIC, Ideal is now the only UK distributor authorised to stock, configure and install ADIC’s enterprise scale Scalar 1000 libraries.

“We are delighted with our relationship with ADIC and with the fact that we have been awarded this exclusive,” says Mark Walker, systems and enterprise director at Ideal. “We have identified to ADIC the commitment Ideal and the Enterprise Solutions Group has in their company and in their products and this has been reflected by Ideal being awarded these distribution rights. We are currently working closely with ADIC to identify and establish new ACR (ADIC Certified Reseller) partners who will benefit from the training, discounts and technical support associated with this prestigious accreditation.”

“We feel our association with Ideal Hardware continues to be highly beneficial for everyone concerned, especially our customers,” commented Steve Mackey, UK sales director at ADIC. “We carefully select our channel partners and limit the number to those companies who we believe will work most effectively with ADIC in delivering the highest customer satisfaction. Ideal Hardware’s commitment to sales, technical and logistic excellence make it the perfect partner to distribute our Scalar 1000 libraries.”

ADIC’s Scalar 1000 tape library delivers scalability and capacity through a flexible and cost effective growth path from 1 to 48 drives and from 118 to 1182 tape slots, storing in excess of 80 terabytes of data. Expansion is simple, expanding the modular cabinet without using ‘pass-through ports’ and without hindering performance. The Scalar 1000 libraries are available with AIT, DLT, LTO or IBM 3590 tape drives.

With more than 70,000 automated libraries installed and a suite of innovative software solutions and Storage Area Networking (SAN) products, ADIC is a leading global provider in the growing market to manage and protect information for computer networks. ADIC offer the industry’s broadest range of automated tape library solutions, offering storage products with capacities from a single data cartridge to more than 70,000. ADIC products support the broadest range of drive types, including DLT, AIT, Magstar 3590 and the new generation of Enterprise class LTO and SDLT drives. All libraries are fully supported by the leading backup and storage management software products on all major platforms.
