Ideal Hardware, the wholly owned subsidiary of Bell Microproducts Inc, today announced they have signed a distribution deal with JNI Corporation, a leading supplier of Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) for the enterprise storage market. Ideal Hardware will join with JNI’s European distributors in serving more than 200 resellers in the European market.

“Working with Ideal Hardware gives us the ability to expand our penetration of the fast-growing European market,” said Neal Waddington, president and CEO of JNI. “Ideal will help expand our non-Solaris sales of products through its network of resellers.”

“We are delighted to have been chosen as a distributor for JNI’s Fibre Channel host bus adaptors,” said Fergus Campbell, product development manager for storage area networks at Ideal Hardware. “The Fibre Channel market is showing unparalleled growth across Europe and demand for high-quality, cost-effective solutions has grown with it. Our partnership approach with key resellers will ensure the successful penetration of the market by JNI. We look forward to replicating the relationship JNI already has with our parent company, Bell Microproducts Inc.”

JNI is the leading Fibre Channel HBA vendor in sales through distributors, more than twice the size of its nearest competitor. JNI’s systems interoperability lab (SIL) is considered one of the most comprehensive compatibility testing labs in the storage network industry. The SIL provides distributors and resellers hundreds of pre-tested configurations through its online comprehensive interoperability configuration. The information is available only to authorised distributors and resellers via the JNI Web site and is updated weekly. This online program offers access to all JNI tested configurations, which makes up most of the configurations that resellers are installing in today’s storage network environment.

JNI Fibrestar HBAs have been certified for use under a wide variety of operating systems, storage network environments and with a variety of storage, server and SAN infrastructure segments of the storage network industry.
