CyberBritain.com Content Ltd, the distribution subsidiary of CyberBritain
Holdings Ltd (CyberBritain) has announced a major venture with Virtual
Internet Provider Ltd (VIP), a subsidiary of Affinity Internet Holdings
(Affinity). The deal will allow VIP to market CyberBritain's Hermia
engine to its 150 VISPs in a brandable format and to use the Hermia search
engine on the mytaxi.com website, another of Affinity's subsidiaries.
Affinity is the UK's leading provider of branded Internet services and the
addition of a branded search engine to its portfolio will further enhance
the branding opportunities available to an Affinity client.
Affinity will market the search engine to its clients who include Tiny
Computers, Egg.com, Powergen, Arsenal FC, Breathe.com, and the Royal Bank
CyberBritain will also create a search engine for mytaxi.com, Affinity's
leading consumer portal. The mytaxi.com search engine will be directly
marketed to Affinity's 1.75 million consumer users.
Benjamin Cohen, the CEO of CyberBritain Holdings Ltd said, "We are
pleased to be able to announce this deal. It provides Affinity with an
acclaimed search facility that will add value to the service it provides
its VISPs and their users in addition to securing us with a major
distribution partner. I believe that Affinity's users are an untapped part
of the UK's search market that may account to between 20% and 30% of the
total marketplace. Thus a deal with Affinity has allowed us to potentially
tie up a major chunk of the market place in one swoop."
The recent eventful history of CyberBritain is presented on BBC2's
at the Top" on Thursday the 15th March at 9.50 pm.
