Cisco to offer Interactive Intelligence’s interaction management software with Cisco’s ICS 7750 Communications System platform

London (March 5, 2001) – Interactive Intelligence Inc. (NASDAQ: ININ) has announced it has recently signed an OEM agreement with Cisco Systems, Inc. to offer Interactive Intelligence’s interaction management software with Cisco’s Integrated Communications System (ICS) 7750 platform.

Under the terms of the OEM agreement, Cisco will offer the Interactive Intelligence software with the ICS 7750, a complete integrated communications system that enables enterprise branch office (EBO) and mid-market companies to rapidly deploy New World applications such as personal productivity, unified messaging, data/voice collaboration and single site contact centre solutions.

The Interactive Intelligence product line is based on a unified, open platform known as the Interaction Center Platform™. According to Interactive Intelligence, this alternative to traditional computer telephony integration solutions consolidates communication devices, thus reducing start-up and maintenance costs, simplifying administration and increasing ease of customisation.

"We believe that the agreement between Interactive Intelligence and Cisco reflects a trend of vendors joining together to fill the need for integrated communications systems," said Bern Elliot, Research Director at Gartner Group. "These systems are providing businesses with viable e-commerce platforms."

“Cisco's leadership in IP Telephony, access solutions and IP internetworking systems, coupled with Interactive Intelligence's innovative software applications, will provide a comprehensive solution, long awaited by businesses that are eager to benefit from the full strategic potential of the Internet. The flexibility of this ICS package helps insure that IT and IS managers can gradually expand their use of New World services as the need arises -- when their customers and users are ready,” said Bruce Laird, Vice President/General Manager of Cisco’s Integrated Communications Business Unit. The Interactive Intelligence software will be an important addition to Cisco’s growing repertoire of industry-leading IP Telephony solutions.”

“We are excited about Interactive Intelligence’s applications being sold with Cisco’s ICS 7750 platform,” said Dr. Donald E. Brown, president and CEO of Interactive Intelligence. “Now, business users will be able to quickly and easily deploy an integrated communications system with a full suite of IP and software-based communications solutions. All a business has to do is install an ICS 7750 system, select the appropriate Interactive Intelligence software and they will have everything they need for a converged communications solution, including a router, voice over IP-based telephone system, unified messaging and a wide variety of advanced interaction management applications.”
