KEYWARE SIGNS PARNTERSHIP AGREEMENT WITH BULL HUNGARY Wednesday 7 March 2001 PDF Print Keyware and Bull Will Jointly Offer Smart Card System Solution for Hungarian Football League Zaventem, Belgium- March 7, 2001 -Keyware (EASDAQ: KEYW), one of the world's leading providers of biometric and centralized authentication solutions, today announced that it signed a partnership agreement with Bull Hungary, a leading provider of smart card based solutions and system integrator. Under the terms of the agreement Keyware and Bull will develop a proposal for a new ticketing and access control system for the Hungarian Football League. The new system will use smart card software similar to the software solution that Keyware recently developed for the Belgian Football League, which to date has issued 300,000 cards. "We are very excited about this partnership with Bull Hungary," said Francis Declercq, president and CEO of Keyware. "Together we provide a perfect solution to a serious problem of crowd management at football matches and other large sporting events. At the same time we are offering an easy way to give the fans added value through product discounts, bonus points, and other member promotions." Declercq also noted that Keyware is exploring similar projects with other football and soccer leagues in Europe. Smart-Universe The Hungarian Football League project will be based on Keyware's Smart-Foot(tm) software, part of the Smart-Universe(tm) product range. Smart-Foot(tm) is a unique set of smart card applications configured specifically for professional sports leagues. The cards allow fans to reserve and purchase tickets for all matches through terminals installed at the stadium, in popular retail locations, as well as to purchase food, refreshments, and souvenirs at the stadium. Smart cards can also allow stadium management to better manage physical access to the stadium by installing smart card readers at all access gates. Home and away supporters can then be easily separated since a fan's card will only open gates in certain areas of the stadium. As a further security measure or for access to private areas, biometric data can be added to the card, which prevents the exchange of cards amongst fans as it gives a precise authentication of the cardholder. "Our recent alliances with Gemplus, Microsoft, Bull CP8 and Proton World have demonstrated our uniqueness and strength in enhancing the security of smart cards with biometrics technologies. We are currently one of the few companies in the world who can deliver software applications for smart cards which on top have the possibility to add biometrics to enhance the security of the card holders even more" said Declercq. Bull Hungary as smart card based solution provider Bull Hungary developed and introduced into the Hungarian market several solutions for payment, loyalty and logistic system, like the Shell Smart Card project with McDonalds and Tesco, the payment solution for Primagaz Hungary gascard, the first Multifunctional hybrid card, which is a Europay-based banking EMV card used as the Hungarian professional doctor card, and was a key hardware provider in the Total smart payment and loyalty project. All solutions are based on the CP8 card and integrated into EFTPOS intelligent card reader terminals. Bull Hungary also implemented a secured Access Control System on the Hungarian Ferihegy Airport Note to editors: About Keyware Founded in 1996 and quoted on the Easdaq since June 2000, Keyware is one of the world's leading providers of a broad range of authentication solutions for real-world business applications, and a pioneer in the field of biometrics, the technology of verifying an individual by means of personal characteristics such as voice, face and fingerprints.
