Citrix Systems, Inc., a global leader in application serving software and
services today announced that the Citrix® Independent Computing
Architecture
(ICA®) Client will be available to the Nokia 9210 Communicator. The Citrix
ICA Client will offer corporate customers high-performance access to
business applications running on Citrix MetaFrame(tm) servers over
wireless
connections. Mobile workers will benefit from the ability to use
full-function applications, as well as e-mail and other productivity
tools,
while away from their desks or in transit.

Citrix and Nokia will demonstrate the solution at the Nokia stand (Stand
E68, Hall 26) at the CeBIT 2001 exhibition. The solution extends the reach
of Citrix server-based applications to the Nokia 9210 Communicator, as
well
as to other Symbian Platform-based mobile information devices. Citrix will
show how ICA technology allows users of the Nokia 9210 Communicator to
improve productivity through effective remote use of vital business
applications. The demonstration will also be offered at the Citrix stand
(Stand B07, Hall 3).

"As the world moves to information devices that are constantly connected,
zero-latency, real-time access to rich applications will be a major
proposition for a huge number of businesses and individuals," said Roger
Baskerville, director, iBusiness Development, EMEA, for Citrix. "Working
with Nokia, Citrix is making wireless application access a viable
proposition."

"The ability to wirelessly access mission-critical applications and data
is
becoming essential, especially for corporations and their employees," said
Teijo Heistola, general manager, Corporate Sales, Nokia Mobile Phones. "By
offering the open software development platform to Citrix and other
partners
in the industry, Nokia is continuing to address the needs of its customers
and capitalising on the significant opportunities of today's mobile
Internet."Many of the features in the Nokia 9210 Communicator, aimed at
mobile professionals, reflects the direction in which the mobile industry
is
heading. These features include a high-resolution color display,
high-speed
mobile e-mail, a new user interface, and multimedia capabilities like full
color video clips. Additionally, the Nokia 9210 Communicator is the first
Nokia product to support the most commonly used PC office applications -
such as Windows - and the first with wireless Java support.

Citrix application serving technology extends the reach of Windows® and
UNIX®-based applications to wireless devices, offering organisations a
cost-effective, flexible method for making full-function business
solutions
available to mobile users. Citrix ICA Clients are provided for leading
wireless operating systems, including the Symbian Platform and the
Microsoft
Windows CE and Pocket PC platforms, enabling applications running on
Citrix
servers to be accessed by users on a wide array of handheld devices.
Citrix
technology is a key enabler of successful application delivery in the
wireless space through its ability to provide a full- featured, rich
application experience over a low-bandwidth wireless connection.

About Citrix ICA

With more than 24 million users worldwide and 6 million concurrent user
licenses since its introduction in 1995, Citrix* Independent Computing
Architecture (ICA) is an industry standard for server-based computing.
Citrix ICA technology includes a server software component, a network
protocol component, and a client software component. On the server, ICA
separates application logic from the user interface and executes 100% of
the
application on the server. The ICA network protocol transports keystrokes,
mouse clicks and screen updates over standard protocols to the client,
typically consuming less than 5 kilobits-per-second of network bandwidth.
On
the client, users see and work only with the application's interface.
