Logical Group, the UK-headquartered professional services and network integration company, has appointed Simon North to the role of HR Director, Logical Group. His appointment follows the arrival of Stephen Lawrence as Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) last year and is a further senior addition to the executive management team.

Logical Group was created from the integration of 30 constituent companies acquired across 10 countries in the last three years. With revenues in excess of $550m Logical provides consulting and integration services in Internet and e-business technologies.

North’s role will be to integrate HR policy and execution across the Group, now consisting of approximately 2000 people, in more than 60 offices across 10 countries.

“Each constituent company has had its own way of doing things before being integrated into Logical, and this presents a few challenges in HR terms,” he said. “In a skills-based organisation like ours, recognising the value of our people is very important. Logical needs to understand how to challenge its employees and help them to develop rewarding careers. Applying clear direction, accountability and an easily understood organisation within the Logical Group framework will be my first priorities.”

North was previously Operations Director at Relyon Ltd, the industrial group listed on the LSE, where he ran a £30 million operation and more than 600 staff. With a background in human resources and management consultancy (with both KPMG and Price Waterhouse) North has focused much of his career on corporate transformation in business performance and culture change.
