New WEBppliance LS Liberates Hosting Providers From
Server Appliance Hardware Constraints

LONDON, UK, April 2, 2001 – Ensim Corporation, the dominant hosting automation provider, announced today the availability of WEBppliance LS, a complete hosting appliance software product. WEBppliance LS enables hosting providers to instantly transform a Linux server into a Web Hosting appliance that can be used to create tiered hosting plans and build a powerful reseller channel.

WEBppliance LS liberates hosting providers from hardware constraints that are implicit when buying a typical server appliance. Designed to run on any Linux server that has Red Hat Linux 6.2, WEBppliance LS allows hosting providers to optimise hardware configurations for performance, reliability and price – ultimately providing superior service to their Web hosting customers for a significant competitive advantage.

Using WEBppliance LS, hosting providers can instantly define and create virtual domain hosting plans. Further, WEBppliance LS features three levels of administration to give hosting providers, resellers and customers complete self-management capabilities.

“WEBppliance LS is the most effective solution for smaller hosting providers who want to provide superior Linux-based virtual domain hosting and reseller hosting plans,” said Rosen Sharma, president and CEO of Ensim. “It enables them to significantly increase their revenues while reducing their operational and support costs.”

WEBppliance LS is targeted at hosting providers who manage less than 5,000 domains. It is designed to scale so that larger hosting providers can manage their WEBppliance LS installations via Ensim’s flagship hosting operations platform, ServerXchange™. This gives hosting providers such as small ISPs and Web designers a complete, integrated family of products that they can stay with as they grow.

WEBppliance LS is designed for single-server installations and is available for immediate download from Ensim’s Web site (www.ensim.com). WEBppliance LS applications include Apache Web server, mail, FTP, SSL, DNS and integration with MySQL database via PHP MyAdmin control panel. A 10-domain license costs $99, a 250-domain license is priced at $599 and an unlimited license is priced at $999.

Ensim made two additional announcements today: a new version of its hosting operations platform, ServerXchange 2.5, that consolidates Windows 2000, Linux and Solaris server management; and a worldwide joint sales, marketing and development initiative with Compaq Computer Corp. Please see those press releases for additional details.
