…Strategic acquisition accelerates the mobile Internet industry…

Argogroup, the leading supplier of device intelligence for the wireless Internet, has announced the acquisition of the Wireless Internet Lab of Ltd for an undisclosed amount.
Argogroup technologies and products combined with those of the Wireless Internet Lab will now enable content providers, infrastructure providers, and platform vendors the opportunity to test, measure and optimize wireless content and services in one place.

The Lab, which will be integrated into Argogroup's business and will become the Argogroup Wireless Internet Lab, will expand its operations into the Argogroup offices located outside of London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and San Francisco in addition to keeping the existing locations in Central London and Stockholm. The Lab will continue to offer its wireless Internet testing and consulting services to clients around the world. Clients of the Lab include well known companies such as Microsoft, Openwave , the Financial Times (, Telia (Speedy Tomato), DHL and Vindigo.

The resulting expanded product and services suite will enable content providers, infrastructure providers, and platform vendors the opportunity to test, measure and optimize wireless content and services. Using Internet technology combined with the multiple Argogroup locations, Argogroup will offer testing and analysis services on any of the different wireless Internet technologies and standards that have until now been restricted by geography. Using Argogroup products and services, customers will be able to develop content in one standard format yet deliver and test it in multiple formats such as I-Mode, WAP, HDML or MML.

Argogroup will use the Wireless Internet Lab to offer high-level consulting, training and testing services to network operators, software suppliers, handset manufactures and infrastructure suppliers worldwide. The Lab will also assist Argogroup in performing testing to further advance its own products that serve the wireless Internet industry.

NOTE: Ltd was a subsidiary of Inc, the Dallas based company that operated the web site. The Ltd Wireless Internet Lab was re-branded as Encerca just prior to this acquisition.
