Leading IT solutions and services provider Deverill has helped Travel Management Group to streamline all its UK administration by upgrading the group's communications network and centralising applications.

Travel Management Group plc is a leading independent UK corporate travel agent, managing the travel programmes of many national and international companies. TMG also operates two market leading Conference and Sports travel divisions that specialise in group travel and the travel needs of various sporting clubs and organisations.

The company has seven offices throughout the UK and is headquartered in Leamington Spa, with a total of around 100 users on its internal network.

The network at Leamington was used to provide email but the solution was unstable, there was no centralisation of email or calendars and other important administrative information.

Deverill installed a new windows 2000 file + print server, together with a new high speed switched network infrastructure, and Netstore E150 exchange service for all sites so that administrative applications are centralised.

According to Travel Management's systems development manager, Simon Booth, 'Our previous support company had let us down by using technicians who were not properly qualified, so obviously we needed to find a supplier we could trust. We found Deverill on the Internet and, as they were a Compaq authorised dealer, decided to approach them.'

The main benefits of the new system was the transfer of the e-mail system to Netstore's E150 exchange service for all their sites. This, says Booth, 'has improved reliability and enhanced communications with one source'.

'There is better security of communications since all email is now encrypted and is also screened for viruses by Netstore before arriving at TMG', says Booth, who adds that Network speeds have significantly increased, improving company productivity and Internet access and Company communication has speeded up. In addition network down-time has significantly reduced and Company satellite offices have much better access to information previously only accessible at HQ.
