Extending The Reach Of Traditional E-Commerce
Lammtara Industries, provider of managed access to applications and databases via WAP, GPRS (2.5 & 3G technologies), SMS, WEB platforms and Voice Service Provision (VSP), has announced a significant new product launch which will enable an existing business with an e-commerce offering to move from fixed line to wireless transactions by its customers. Called Mtrolley, the product is initially targeted at large retailers, such as Tesco, HMV or Boots, giving consumers the ability to ‘shop’ for anything, anywhere and from any wireless device.
Acting essentially as a managed service provider (MSP), Lammtara’s in-house developed applications enable companies to allow remote and mobile users to view, manage and maintain content and data from the large range of devices with Internet access, whether on a fixed or wireless platform.
Mike Kilgannon, Customer Development Director, Lammtara Industries, explains the operational principles of Mtrolley within the MSP model, “Utilising either a WAP or voice interface, the Mtrolley products will integrate with customers’ existing platforms, allowing users - via a web or I-TV interface - to establish a profile, and create an account. Once an account has been created the user will be able to use a mobile device almost as a ‘remote control’. Utilising Lammtara’s wireless hub, users will log on securely from a wireless device with identification and authorisation transacted via WTLS/SSL security from a mobile handset to the client's Web server”. He continues, “Once logged on to the system, the user-friendly structure of the trolley products will allow a time and delivery date, for the purchases, to be chosen. Upon confirmation, the items required will be chosen from a menu of the user’s historical favourites. In addition, users may also browse the ‘aisles’ enabling them to shop from both their favourites and the aisles during the login session. The process will then be closed by the selection of a pre-defined delivery address and the confirmation of the preferred payment mechanisms. The transaction will be confirmed back to the user by an SMS message to the wireless device being used”.
Stephen Sowery, CEO adds, “With such an innovative approach to technological applications Lammtara is looking very seriously to commercially develop the Mtrolley product with a large retail partner”.
Lammtara Industries offers a structured and proven approach for solutions to mobile and remote working. Functioning at the cutting edge of technology and utilising some of the most advanced technology platforms currently available, Lammtara ensures a fast, efficient and effective managed access to applications and Internet/Intranet databases.
